StemFem Network

Participation of women in STEM fields

StemFem Network was birthed after the realisation of the gender gap which exists in Science and Technology workforce between males and females. This is attributed to various causes such as stereotyping during STEM teaching, lack of support, mentorship and role models as well as lack of knowledge concerning the science and technology field. Our goal is to bridge that gap and increase the participation of women in STEM fields so as to diversify the nation’s human capital.

StemFem Network is a platform which provides networking, mentorship and support to women and girls in STEM. The StemFem network provides an opportunity for marginalised female students to conduct STEM subject studies and provides a platform for idea generation and knowledge sharing among women scientists. Talented students from marginalised areas who wish to persue degrees in STEM related fields are supported financially to sustain their interest into the STEM field.
